Borussia Dortmund Edge Past PSG in Champions League Semi-Final

Narrow 1-0 Victory Gives Dortmund Slight Advantage

Niclas Füllkrug's Goal Powers German Club to Crucial Home Win

In a thrilling first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, Borussia Dortmund narrowly defeated Paris Saint-Germain by a score of 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night. The crucial goal came courtesy of German striker Niclas Füllkrug, who netted a clinical strike in the first half.

Dortmund's victory gives them a slight advantage heading into the second leg at the Parc des Princes next Tuesday. However, with PSG's star-studded squad, the tie remains far from over. The Parisians will be eager to overturn the deficit on home soil and book their place in the final.

Füllkrug's goal came in the 32nd minute, when he latched onto a loose ball in the Paris Saint-Germain penalty area and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The German international's strike was his 13th in the Champions League this season, making him the competition's top scorer.

PSG had their chances to equalize, with Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi both coming close. However, Dortmund's defense held firm and denied the visitors a crucial away goal. The German club also had opportunities to extend their lead, but Erling Haaland missed a glorious chance in the second half.

The result leaves Borussia Dortmund in a strong position to reach their first Champions League final since 2013. However, they will need to be wary of PSG's attacking threat in the second leg. The French champions have scored 26 goals in the competition this season, more than any other team.
