Medvedev Dominates Rublev in Dubai
Daniil Medvedev continued his impressive form by capturing the Dubai Tennis Championships title on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The Russian star defeated fellow countryman Andrey Rublev in straight sets, 6-2 6-2, to complete an ATP Tour hat-trick following his victories in Rotterdam and Doha.
Unstoppable Medvedev
Medvedev has been in scintillating form this season, winning 18 of his 21 matches. He dominated the final in Dubai, breaking Rublev three times and winning 68% of points on his first serve. This latest triumph marks Medvedev's first ATP title since the Vienna Open in October 2022.
The 27-year-old is now firmly established as one of the top players in the world. He climbed to No. 2 in the ATP rankings after his victory in Dubai, behind only Novak Djokovic. Medvedev will be looking to continue his strong run at the Indian Wells Masters, which begins on March 6.
