Boston Escapes with 133-128 Overtime Victory

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston Celtics escaped with a 133-128 overtime win over the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals. Derrick White's putback at the buzzer gave the Celtics the victory in a thrilling contest.

The Celtics found themselves trailing by 12 points with just over five minutes remaining in regulation. However, they rallied and forced overtime on a jumper by Marcus Smart with just 1.5 seconds remaining.

In overtime, the Celtics controlled the tempo and ultimately secured the win. Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. White added 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown chipped in with 22 points.

The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton, who had a game-high 38 points. Jalen Williams added 22 points, and Andrew Nembhard had 20 points.

Game 2 of the series will be played in Boston on Monday night.
